Codebits ’09
I’m back from the 2009 edition of codebits. It was 3 days of coding, interesting talks and overall geekness. We had the chance to develop a small project in rails to share events, locations or points of interest in a web-based social network, entitled “Eu Ia Lá”. Thumbs up to @missangaazul for the huge help with the design.
One thing I didn’t really agree with was the organization’s decision to rely mainly on the user votes for the final decisions. On one hand people vote a lot on sensationalism, on the other hand the voting system was buggy, and I, for instance, was unable to positively vote on some good projects. Nevertheless, it was a positive experience and I’m looking forward to be there for next year’s edition.
